The death of Lee Kuan Yew, the founding father of Singapore, meant that the world’s eyes were turned to the city state of Singapore for his state funeral. Sunday 29 March saw MediaCorp, the major broadcaster in Singapore, provide comprehensive coverage both for its own viewers and for broadcasters globally.
The Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies were two of the most watched and talked about displays on television in 2012, with a combined global audience of 18.7 million viewers. Every April, teams representing the two oldest universities in England, Oxford and Cambridge, meet on the Thames for one of the toughest challenges in rowing. The course, from Putney to Mortlake, stretches along 6.8km of the river in West London as the action-hungry crowds pack both riverbanks. This year's race was covered by BBC Sport and saw Oxford claim an 11- length victory over their rivals.

BBC Sport turned to Presteigne Broadcast Hire for a quick rig flyaway solution to on-location coverage of Formula One races around the world.
Firstly, the production, editing and delivery systems had to be packaged in airline cargo containers and flown to their location.
