Presteigne Broadcast Hire supports Nippon TV in Sochi
Presteigne Broadcast Hire went to Sochi to support broadcasters from around the world at the 2014 Winter Olympics, including Japan’s Nippon Television Network (NTV).
The broadcasters rented a number of XDCamera decks for recording, editing and ingest and NTV rented two complete camera chains and a studio pedestal for their on-site studio.
Yujin Suzuki, technical director of NTV said “as Olympic coverage is not an everyday event, we need to supplement our own equipment with rented kit...and balance our needs on site with our production plans back in Japan.”
“We have been working with Presteigne Broadcast Hire for some years now to cover a number of events,” he added. “Renting from Japan would take up too much shipping time, and dry hire is not common in Russia – they expect to provide personnel alongside the equipment which we did not need. We have enjoyed good service from Presteigne Broadcast Hire in the past, and we had confidence in their commitment to support us in Sochi.”
Overall Nippon and Presteigne collaborated and successfully completed a very important project with a positive end result. PBH look forward to working with NTV on similar projects in the future.
