Hire Desk Coordinator - Warrington+-

Reports to: Hire Desk Sales Manager Location: Warrington, WA3 6BL

The Role
To be responsible for the hire out of a full range of broadcasting equipment to clients and provide advice to them on “best fit” solutions for their broadcasting and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximise all sales opportunities by providing high levels of customer service in all areas including answering phones promptly, handling queries and orders efficiently and accurately
  • Explore new business opportunities whilst maintaining good business relationships with existing clients and all details updated to relevant CRM system.
  • Providing a quick and accurate quote response to ‘best fit’ solutions for the customer’s operational needs
  • Taking of orders, processing and following them through to completion
  • Arranging delivery and collection of orders in accordance with the customer’s requirements
  • Working together as a team, and liaising with all departments to ensure complete customer satisfaction for each hire
  • If necessary, sourcing and hiring in additional equipment to satisfy the customer
  • Processing all input to IT system and paperwork relating to all aspect of the hire job
  • Keeping operations informed of any repairs and maintenance so that future business is not impacted

Senior Projects Engineer - Crawley+-

Reports to:CTO Location: Crawley, RH10 9TU

The Role
This is a great opportunity for an experienced projects engineer to join our growing projects team based at our head office in Crawley. We are planning our new generation of systems using a combination of off-the-shelf and custom-built components to enable us to build future-ready systems that production companies will love to use and which are scalable, fast to deploy and cost effective. Leading the engineering effort to build this next generation of services will be your key focus in this role making it an interesting and exciting time to join.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the CTO, other specialist base engineers (eg Audio and/or RF) and the hire desk to create bespoke quotes based on the clients requirements
  • Prepare detailed system drawings to customers desired workflow and equipment choices balancing appropriately the desired level of redundancy, the need to consider weight, effectiveness and the cost of the proposed solution
  • Where required, discuss the proposed requirements and solutions with the customer to ensure that PBH fully understands and reflects their needs in the proposed solution and articulates the PBH proposal effectively to the customer to demonstrate PBH credibility and experience as assets in winning the work
  • Build and programme the system as designed in an accurate and timely fashion to meet or exceed the client’s needs and expectations
  • Test systems to ensure fit for purpose and ready for work
  • Work Onsite to provide engineering and operational support as required (may involve long unsociable hours, weekend working and be located in any part of the world)

  • Significant experience in broadcast project engineering in both HD and UHD

Audio Systems Engineer - Crawley+-

Reports to: Head of Audio Location: Crawley, RH10 9TU

Purpose of Role
Presteigne Broadcast Hire are currently seeking an engineer who can assist the Audio Department in delivering well maintained and properly prepared audio and communications equipment to our customers. This role requires a flexible work attitude with the possibility of ad hoc periods of lengthy days to meet deadlines. The Audio Department is responsible for overseeing the sound and communications elements of both box-hire items as well as our own bespoke systems and Portable Production Units. They will be responsible to ensure all contracts are ready for despatch within the required timescale and ensure equipment is kept serviceable for future use. Dependant on experience, occasional on-site work may be required, up to and including guarantee level.


Key Responsibilities

  • Test and basic maintenance of audio and communications equipment.
  • Bespoke configuration of equipment as per customers’ requirement.
  • Project preparation and collation.
  • Ensuring all equipment is ready as per specified timeline.
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers.
  • Co-ordinating RF equipment and ensuring OFCOM licences are issued where necessary
  • Liaising with Managers and Coordinators on timelines & all requirements.
  • Ensuring all day-to-day “Box Hire” leaves in a timely and presentable manner.
  • Ensuring firmware is kept up to date where relevant.
  • Assist the Project team with configuration of Portable Production Units.


Person Specification

  • Experience of working with Broadcast audio and communications equipment.
  • Competence in either RTS or Riedel communications equipment an advantage.
  • Ability to problem solve and adapt to changing criteria.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard equipment (microphones, mixers etc) and terminology.
  • Can-do attitude extremely important together with flexibility, adaptability and common sense.
  • Well organised with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, pro-active and ability to work and remain calm under pressure.
  • Good written, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience of and enjoys working as part of a team and independently.
