IT Support Technician


Reports to: IT Support Manager
Location: Units 8 & 9, The Brunel Centre, Newton Road, Crawley RH10 9TU


Purpose of Role

The IT Technician will work alongside and report to the IT Support Manager assisting in day-to-day support tasks as well as getting involved in projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Day-to-day support for hardware and software
  • Maintenance tasks on laptop, desktops and servers
  • Testing and advising about new technology
  • Becoming involved in new and ongoing projects to improve and develop the company systems
  • Installation and setup of new hardware and software
  • Fault finding
  • Ensuring all new and current IT hardware/software records are recorded correctly and maintained
  • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • A willingness to work out of hours if and when required for new installations or projects
  • Following IT Procedure in setup of new equipment and software
  • Create documentation and user instructions
  • Undertaking any other general IT Support issues as and when required

Person Specification
Essential

  • A team player but also someone who uses their initiative when necessary and can work on their own
  • High interest in IT and learning how systems/software/hardware work
  • Deadline driven, with high standards of accuracy
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to solve problems
  • Good interpersonal skills and can work well with people at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in written and oral English
  • Local to the Crawley area, preferably a car driver/owner due to the office location
  • Good PC troubleshooting and technical skills including some knowledge of:-
- Windows 7 & 10
- Office 2016
- Windows Server 2008r2 & 2012r2
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Exchange 2010-2013
- Salesforce CRM
- Basic Network infrastructure with exposure to Cisco and Watchguard
- Panda Security and Management
- Ringcentral

Desirable

  • This role is ideally suited to someone with experience in a similar role with an IT related qualification and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
