Meet the Team : Rob Symington, Senior Projects Engineer

Rob joins Presteigne as Senior Projects Engineer with 20 years’ experience in engineering and ops roles, most recently as OB Manager for BBC News.

He’s equally happy engineering large OB systems, in the studio as a multi-skilled Op or as a Satellite/IP Uplink Engineer

Major events credits include Harry & Meghan’s wedding, 2016 Olympic games Brazil, 2012 Olympic games London, numerous Wimbledon tournaments, Cop21 Climate summit Paris, G7 Japan, 2017 Kenyan Elections, 2018 World Cup Russia, Syrian Border refugee Crisis, Baghdad Bureau redesign.

Other events that Rob has been a key player on include: Climate Change special from the Arctic, 2021 Booker Prize, Coldplay + Duran Duran In Concert, Typhoon Haiyan the Philippines (Breaking News), Jools Holland/Sir Elton John remote interview for Later, BBC Virtual Audience, Children In Need/Sophie Ellis-Bextor, 2020 US Elections and the Sport Relief/SPOTY Tour de Trophy with Gareth Thomas.
